Buffet Crampon

We have to demand from our hand that it works as exact as a machine, but thanks to our humanity we have the possibility to integrate intuition.

We offer new Buffet and Selmer clarinets with the BS modification for sale. The following models are available with the BS modification:
  • • Buffet Crampon R13
  • • Buffet Crampon RC Prestige
  • • Buffet Crampon Festival
  • • Buffet Crampon Tosca
  • • Buffet Crampon Vintage
  • • Selmer Signature
With the BS modification, quality fluctuations inherent to factory-made clarinets are eliminated. Applying our extended know-how, we raise these professional clarinets to their full potential.

The bore of the clarinet is not changed in order to keep the original sound characteristics of the specific model. To achieve the optimal play-feeling, the BS modification implements numerous features, for example:

All pads are replaced with the special BS padding system, which grants 100% closing and an optimal sound reflection. The mechanics are perfectly adjusted. The spring tension is levelled absolutely even. Special acoustical work and a custom made barrel enhance the original sound qualities. 3 years warranty.

Polaris:

The core of the Polaris barrel is made of Grendilla wood and is covered with a Cocobolo shell. Two metal rings are inserted. This barrel is distinguished by a warm and vibrant sound that remains round in all registers.

Polaris II:

Polaris II is made of Grenadilla wood with two metal rings. The lower metal ring is cushioned with a Cocobolo ring. The bore of the Polaris II is polycilindrical, which grants an exceptionally focussed sound.

Centro

The classical ringless design CENTRO barrels have a warm, dark sound. This barrel is designed for people who like the german sound tradition.

Flutes

Clean, Oil and Adjust (COA)

A professional COA is the single most important service for keeping your flute in top playing condition and every flute should have a COA once a year. The procedure involves complete disassembly of the instrument. The body, headjoint and footjoint are thoroughly cleaned and polished. The keys are cleaned as well as possible without disturbing pads and bumpers. Springs are tested and replaced if necessary.* The head cork is tested and replaced if needed. All pads and bumpers are examined and replaced as needed.* All mechanisms (including rods, rod screws, pivot screws, rollers and hinge tubes) are cleaned and oiled. Pads are re-shimmed as required to cover with a light touch. Key to key adjustment, key height and lost motion are all regulated to exacting standards. The instrument is then thoroughly play-tested for confirmation and re-adjusted as necessary.

Mechanical Restoration

Often times flutes that have seen many years of play, have been in long-term storage or have not received regular maintenance, will require a full mechanical restoration in order to play properly. With this procedure the instrument is completely disassembled, including pinned sections. The body, headjoint, footjoint and all of the keys are thoroughly cleaned and polished. Dents are removed for cosmetic, acoustical and mechanical considerations as needed.* Tone holes are corrected as needed and faced true. Springs are tested and replaced if necessary.* The head cork is replaced and adjusted. All pads and bumpers are replaced with the highest-grade materials. All mechanisms (including rods, rod screws, pivot screws, rollers and hinge tubes) are cleaned and oiled. Keys are refitted as needed on student model instruments and to exacting tolerances on professional quality instruments.* Pads are seated to cover with a light touch. Key to key adjustment, key height and lost motion are regulated to exacting standards. The instrument is then allowed to set, re-examined for regulation, and thoroughly play-tested for confirmation.

Repad

Repadding a flute involves complete disassembly of the instrument. Tone holes are corrected as needed and faced true. Springs are tested and replaced if necessary.* The head cork is replaced and adjusted. All pads, bumpers, and adjustments are replaced with the highest-grade materials.

Saxophones

Overhaul

Our pro shop overhaul is the job that we recommend for all true professional horns as well as all Selmer Paris saxophones. This overhaul includes all of the work from the standard overhaul with the several major upgrades..

Diamond Tone Hole Resurfacing

Many saxophones have tone holes that are not perfectly level. With our Pro Overhaul, we use our diamond tone hole leveling equipment to make sure that all tone holes are perfectly flat throughout the sax. With a perfectly flat tone hole, we are able to use a higher end, firmer pad. The firmer pads allow for more solid key action & response and typically allow for better projection.
